Awaken The Giant Within Quotes:

In life, lots of people know what to do, but few actually do what they know.

Three decisions that we all control each moment of our lives: what to focus on, what things mean and what to do in spite of the challenges that may appear to limit us.

Awaken The Giant Within Book Summary Notes:

  • In order to change your life, find and focus on the right decisions and make them consistently. Replace I would like to do with I will do and then stick with your decisions.
  • Use positive and negative reinforcement to help you stick to the correct choices and avoid the wrong ones.
  • Change your beliefs and your life will soon follow. The way we see ourselves and the world is influenced by our beliefs.
  • The words we use to describe an experience begin to define the experience. You can use stronger emotive words to describe positive feelings and less strong language to describe negative ones. This will help to skew your life more positive as well.
  • Finding the best solution starts with the right questions. The questions we ask determine the way we think which influences our lives. It stands to reason that the quality of our questions can therefore influence our quality of life.
  • We can begin to improve our life by using the power of questions each morning by asking ourselves things like “what’s great about my life?” By starting the day off in a more positive state it will gradually become easier to access that state during the day as well.
  • Find and understand your own values. The greatest people in the world are that way because they are aligned to their own values. Once you know what your values are you can begin to examine the things you do and find out if what you’re doing is aligned to your values or not.
  • Come up with your own life rules that make you happy. Make sure these rules are also things you can control such as completing personal goals.
